So, I've invested a fair amount of time into my Xelor in the closed beta, doing the traditional "max out dial first, then whatever" plan, and I've found it to be... unsatisfying. I agree that the massive boosts and free teleport effects are pretty cool, but the fact is that the dial randomly dies, the teleport can be locked, the dial limits your effective attack range, consumes all your WP, and it eats up the first 20 levels of your character's available points.
