Yes, that'll remove the item.  Whether you get anything from it or not is relative so you might just be destroying it to free up space.  It isn't like you can do anything with it regardless though so it's free real estate.

Technically Waven is a completely different genre of game so despite having a somewhat similar art style and lore/characters it's built for a mobile experience.  One of those pick up and play timewaster kinda games when you're waiting for something and have a few minutes to relax.  One can hope but I wouldn't throw beans in the basket yet.

The thriving population took a devastating hit prior to a bunch of the "do whatever you want" mechanics were scaled back.  You can only block access to certain areas, randomly attack players for not paying to access certain areas (I.E. extortion fees under threat of getting attacked), attacking people for mining, hijacking politics and messing with the systems in areas and then calling those who voice concerns about it "carebears" and telling them to "git gud" so long before a massive player hemorrhage...
