A quick reference for people's understanding (until perhaps a few major patches later if area mastery ever gets removed). Usually glyphs and floor traps are known area-mastery-using spells and status effect poisons are single target-mastery-using spells

Now, Hot Potato gives a nice huge buff, but maintaining its use is a risky affair very unlike Ecaflip's Tarot doing damage from Meowtydom and the unabashed benefits of Heads I win, Tails you Lose.
So far, the only way that I understand how it's conceptualised by the original developers is a very delicate loop of multiple passives and spells-
1) The heal of the positive fleafleas state on the non-Ecaflip entity is calculated based on the Ecaflip, unlike Flaming state doing damage off the state bearer...

Alternatively, innately replace the connection of Boot for +1MP with this effect of adding combo and detonating (making it more similar to the old Boot but less abusable)
