On break since august 2018. All my characters are gone!? over 1k hours deleted....

Has this happened to anyone else? I checked the other servers... nothing. just poof goodbye. This is my favorite game of all time and i was really looking forward to jumping back in. but no chance of me grinding all the gear again.

I see them all on my profile here...but not in the game?

Crafting is mandatory?

I just started this game with 2 friends but it seems like crafting is basically forced on us? keys for dungeons, basically no gear drops off mobs. I played wakfu for years and left because i dispise the crafting system and its role in the game. am I missing something or is that how this game is and i should quit while i am ahead and save myself alot of time, because i HATE crafting. (sorry i origionally posted this in the wrong place!)
