It needs to be balanced. They are healers after all, why do they do more damage than my [insert class here]?

I have been thinking of rerolling to enutrof to farm items but I don't understand how prospecting works exactly. What I would like to know is that do your party members gain an increased chance for drops if you are a water enutrof with full prospecting, or is the bonus only for yourself.
If the drop increase only effects your drops, exactly what is the benefit to partying with an enutrof other than them maybe throwing you a bone? Most classes bring something specific to a group. Cras kill things...
